Vic Trials Series Round 3 on Sunday. A bit of a different venue from many used by that club - no big granite boulders, mostly in and out of creek gullys. I ended up second in Trial 3, but that belies the reality. The winner (Josh Coleman) was on 5, I was on 75 and there was no third place rider. If I add in the four Masters riders (same yellow line) then I came in second last, only ahead of a 72 year old (albeit a VERY experienced 72 year old - John Rees). The upsides are that I had an enjoyable day, reduced my score every lap (24,18,15,11,7), managed to remember every section without walking them a second time and only made 1 totally silly mistake - reading a gate backwards. I took some video of the sections that gave me the most trouble. Section 2 gave me grief at the rock step out of the creek, but everyone else had very little trouble - I need to work on accuracy on rocky ground. Section 5 only got 6 cleans total, 4 by Josh. Everyone except Josh had at least one 5 on that section. Tough one! I was 5,5,3,3,3 Section 6 was consistent 3's for me until the last lap when I managed a 1. I think that one needed a better plan. https://vimeo.com/726587758
