Road to the Nationals I had a good practice session with Ben Walling the day before this video. Often when we as riders decide to "get back at it" and we are all energised, we can suddenly realise we aren't as fit and limber as we should be. Immediately I felt, really sore knees, mostly my right, and a very sore lower back with a bit of loss of mobility. The problem with the Knees are the Quads having to work so much. When they tighten up, the tension and misaligns the knee cap. It feels uncomfortable and can end up with your knee locking up. Particularly it can lock up when you are walking down hill. Having a long session out of the blue (2 solid hours of riding) I really worked my legs. So I had to roll them out. My lower back is the hip flexors getting tight and pulling my pelvis forward. Then my lower back makes up for the hips not moving. To sort it out I need to stretch out everything at the front of the hip. You can do a lot with the foam roller and ball...
