GO Closer.... You will have heard me say this many times and you'll continue to hear it a lot! Like leaning forward on climbs we have this natural tendency to want to "GO" too far back from the step. Most of what I am saying to riders in Feedbacks is to do more than just get them over the step they are currently attempting. Its setting them up for more in the future. Being able to leave the GO moment really late and being comfortable and acting logically in that moment at high RPM will remove barriers for you in the future. The are often steps or dirt embankments, that with just a tiny bit too much approach speed, you just wont make it up. Being able to comfortably bring your go moment closer: - Will help you increase lift - Will give you more traction and more ability to climb higher - Make it easier to keep the front in the air - Give you more space to operating within in a section - and reduce anxiety as you have more time and room.... BUT you will have to face and over come some real anxiety, fear and a distinct feeling of it being counter intuitive! So keep working on getting closer... I still practice getting closer regularly myself and it looks like i need to do more!
