Following on from @Wes 's post - here's some more vid of the same section. Myself riding first, then Jimmy who I've recently connected with reasonably locally. I had two 5's on this section, once for stalling and once for crossing the tape. Grrr. Shows just how nicely Wes really rode this! I rode Trial 3/B grade/Yellow line on day 1 - way over my head. Two sections with big steps that after half-hearted and very fearful attempts (even with a generous minder) I gave up on and just took 5's, lots of sections that I either 5'd or was lucky to paddle my way through for 3. I got 4 cleans for the day, all of them on one particularly easy section. 22x5's in 40 sections. Sad and stressful. I could have kept riding in T3 and would have come 3rd (only 3 in the class!), but the other 2 finished the 2 days on 18 & 52 while I was at 143 for day 1 alone! It was an easy choice to drop back to T4+ on Sunday and ride for considerably more fun (even if my score was still pretty rubbish) & not a completely undeserved trophy. I do find it rather disappointing & somewhat depressing that despite practicing several hundred hours a year for the past couple of years I'm still so very, very far from smooth and accurate, or even competent really, when it comes to events. Sorely tempted to stop wasting my time, effort, money & mental capacity competing and just play around at home and out and about in the bush.
